Just in time for Tube 2016, AICON 3D Systems launches a new version of the software platform BendingStudio. BendingStudio 3.0 offers many new features, which facilitate daily work in bending production. With a new control concept, AICON reacts to customer requirements.

User-friendliness has been totally revised. The aim was a clearer structure and easier handling. Now, the set-up of inspection plans is separated from the measurements. The big advantage: The user sees only the information relevant for him. Furthermore, comparative measurements become easier.

Image 2_The new BendingStudio 3.0 suports the user to make fast fault detections_ENThe set-up of new parts (e.g. creating bending elements out of CAD files) is completely integrated into the application “part editor”. This new arrangement optimizes the process of measurement and analysis. On top of this, the menu structure of the different applications was regrouped; the user now finds all relevant process steps neatly arranged.

Besides the structural novelties, BendingStudio 3.0 offers extended measurement options. In the new version, any connected measuring device like AICON’s TubeInspect or MoveInspect only provides the measured centre line. A special Wizard guides the user through the single steps of the bending point model, and the user can interfere when needed. Usually, the analysis is automated, however, manual interference is now more transparent and graphically supported. In Reverse Engineering, different bending radii can easily be taken account of.

Image 3_Wizards integrated in BendingStudio 3.0 simplify the operation_ENIn the new software, it is possible to repeat analyses of a measurement afterwards – this makes multiple measurements easier. The user can either delete measurements or change the parameters of the analysis afterwards. This is especially useful in partial measurements, i.e. if the part cannot be measured in a single step. Bigger components are measured by overlapping repositioning section by section, and the partial measurements are then combined. If the overall measurement is not successful, new single measurements are added, defective measurements deleted or single measurements re-evaluated with changed parameters. This allows for an even more effective workflow, as the part does not have to be completely re-measured in case of errors.

The first version of BendingStudio had its world premiere at TUBE 2012 in Düsseldorf/Germany. Since then, it has been complemented and optimized continuously. New customers and established TubeInspect customers use the program and appreciate the facilitations in their daily work. BendingStudio connects all data and processes around production of bended parts: from production and process planning to manufacturing and quality control. It is the only tool to meet and combine these requirements with emphasis on metrological processes.

Holders of appropriate licenses and a valid software maintenance contract will receive the new BendingStudio Version 3.0 with the next software update.
